
The Victorian Phoenix Water Polo Club is Victoria’s only club competing in the Australian Water Polo League (AWL).
Established in 2021, the Victorian Phoenix Water Polo Club provides high performance athletes based in Victoria with the opportunity to train and play water polo in Australia’s premier domestic water polo competition.
The Club is also committed to assisting Water Polo Victoria (WPV) develop the sport at a junior, youth and State League level by providing a pathway for aspiring players to compete at the highest level in the country.
Victorian Phoenix’s participation in the league provides junior and senior players in Victoria with a connection to a local AWL team. The Victorian water polo community’s support of the new club will play a key role in its success.
Australian Water Polo League
The Australian Water Polo League (AWL) is Australia’s premier domestic water polo competition. Eleven clubs compete in the national competition which comprises both a men’s and women’s competition.
The AWL provides important competition opportunities for national squad members as well as the next generation of Australian water polo talent.
It is a national competition, featuring teams from five states across Australia and international players often join teams competing in the League creating a high-quality competition.
